A special experience Summer course handshapes and Mille Fiori from 23 to 27 July
It was one of the hottest weeks this summer.
I participated in Lies van Huet’s summer course in the courtyard of the old prison in Leeuwarden.
A great group that went on firmly, even though sweat poured out of all pores.
Delicious lunches with extras and fans provided by the husband of Lies.
A special experience. Lies teaches in a very pleasant and natural way. She has a lot of knowledge and offers practical tips and/or solutions. The first day we met with a number of techniques that everyone worked with intensively. I enjoyed it, because there was plenty of room to give it my own twist and that was my need. Then there were two days to start with our own work. I was really looking forward to that. There was plenty of room for all students start off with your plan.
And yes, I also had a plan and it worked: the plan that I first resisted.
Lies had room and attention for everyone. Then two days of Mille Fiori. A beautiful technique to make a bowl with two colors of clay. Very informative. Each bowl was different. I really enjoyed it and already do a ceramics course here.
